Abstract

Present study aims to explore the role of employees’ self-efficacy and person-environment fit in determining their work-related performance. The data was collected from 296 respondents from Pakistani organizations. The collected data was analyzed to find out the effects of employee self-efficacy and person-environment fit on employee job performance. The findings suggested strong and affirmative association of the two with job performance. Self-efficacy along-with person-environment fit is an important factor in determining increased performance of employees concerning their job responsibilities. Managers are suggested to provide employees with such a work environment which could foster self-efficacy and person-environment fit among them. The higher level of employees’ self-efficacy and person environment fit will result in greater performance of employees that eventually contribute to firm’s overall performance.
