A Study of Effect of Gender Discrimination on Workplace Stress among University Teachers

Abstract

Gender discrimination is a core issue inhibiting career success of females in both developed and developing countries. In Pakistan, women also encounter discrimination which exist either in form of Sticky Floor or Glass Ceiling. This paper investigates the effect of gender discrimination on stress level of teaching faculty of higher education institutions. The dimensions taken in this study are sticky floor and glass ceiling. Teachers are randomly selected from six universities of Lahore belonging to public and private sectors. Mixed method approach is used for data collection. Findings indicate a positive relation between gender discrimination and stress.
